Fully Recyclable British ‘Green Shield’
Our ‘Green shield’ PPE Face Shield is a sustainable and more permanent solution – perfect for retail and beauty sector use, as well as for the general public.
Our sets consist of a headband and ten recyclable inserts. These are both skin-friendly and environmentally responsible as the inserts are made from flake sourced under the Prevented Ocean Plastic initiative. Further inserts can be purchased separately (see below).

British NHS Visor
Our NHS PPE Visor is disposable and consists of a recyclable visor made from flake sourced under the Prevented Ocean Plastic initiative, as well as a piece of medically approved foam that helps to keep the visor away from the forehead.
It is comfortable to work in whilst wearing glasses and it helps to absorb any excess perspiration. It is skin-friendly, highly sustainable and overall a great choice to protect the eyes, nose and mouth.

Staeger Clear Mask
Our Clear Mask is easily cleaned and reusable and is designed to allow room for a protective mask to be worn over the mouth and face, whilst still allowing the mouth to be visible to others and allow for easier communication.
This is particularly great if you are communicating with people with hearing difficulties or anyone else that has special needs and relies on being able to see facial expressions in order to understand better. As such, it is great for teachers, social workers or anyone else who wants to maintain traditional human interaction while wearing a mask.
It is also comfortable to wear while wearing glasses and more hygienic than a regular cloth mask as it can be wiped clean and easily disinfected.
Prevented Ocean Plastic
The initiative aims to reduce plastic pollution in our oceans. Locals in countries with poor waste management systems are employed to collect washed-up plastic items from the shores to be turned into flake.
This not only helps create sustainable jobs in those communities, but it also makes our Green Shields ocean-friendly. You can learn more about the Prevented Ocean Plastic initiative here.
FAQs
Are face visors effective against COVID-19?
Our face visors are effective in protecting against spread of infection, including coronavirus as they are CE 728708 marked and so:
- Conform to the PPE Regulation and EU recommendation 2020/403 scheme
- Are BS 2020:403 compliant
- As a result, they are officially certified as PPE for use specifically against COVID-19.
Can visors be used instead of masks?
Face visors can be worn instead of face masks, but they are most effective when worn together. You can read more about the benefits of both on our blog.
How do you assemble the visors?
All the PPE visors and shields arrive flat packed but are extremely easy to assemble. To assemble the green shields, simply fasten the acetate sheet visor onto the green headband.

Are face visors reusable?
The Staeger Green Shields are designed to be a more permanent solution. Each set comes with a reusable headband and 10 plastic inserts which should be disposed of after use.
Our CE-marked face shields are intended for single-use and should be disposed of at the end of a shift to be most effective. But they are recyclable. The final decision of whether to clean and reuse these visors is up to the person wearing them.
